The Wolf Blastlite - A Powerful ATEX Lighting Solution for Shot Blasting Applications

Large infrastructures, such as road and rail bridges, storage tanks farms and other large metal structures undergo regular blasting, jetting, coating and painting applications to protect their metal surfaces, provide them with anti-corrosive properties and prolong the life of assets.

The process of preparing the metal surfaces through shot and sand blasting or water jetting and then the application of protective coatings and paints create potentially explosive gas, vapour, mist and dust atmospheres. In addition, with the structures typically shrouded with access, containment and enclosure systems (booths and tenting) the working areas have low light levels insufficient for safe and efficient working.

The new Wolf M-485 Blastlite provides a powerful, safe and cost effective ATEX and IECEx certified lighting solution for the first part of the process – the shot and sand blasting, as well as water jetting operations.

Designed to take full advantage of the powerful M-85 Midi Torch – which has outstanding light output figure of up to 210 lumens – the Blastlite is a highly cost effective alternative to larger, heavier and often cable powered alternatives.

The new Wolf M-485 Blastlite provides a powerful, safe and cost effective ATEX and IECEx certified lighting solution for shot, grit and sand blasting, as well as water jetting operations.

Securely attached to the nozzle, hose or hogger, the Blastlite’s powerful narrow beam cuts through dust and spray to improve visibility of the surface being worked upon.  This results in a better quality surface finish as well as much improved productivity as the need to repeatedly stop and check the work area is greatly reduced.  Some operators even say they can get the job done in half the time!

The Blastlite is available either as a complete kit, containing an ATEX M-85 LED Midi torch and accessories, or the accessories can be purchased separately.
